The Total Time From Offer to Completion can take 12-16 Weeks

First Step - Pre Contract Work

Appoint Conveyancing (Property) Solicitors to instruct local searches. Get a survey completed and a draft contract. This can take approximately 2 weeks.

Second Step - Mortgage

Appoint a mortgage broker if you haven't got a mortgage in principle, if you have, arrange the mortgage documents to be sent to your acting conveyancers. This can take approximately 4 weeks. 

Third Step - Draft Contract

Review survey reports and local searches; discuss with your conveyancers their report from any raised enquiries and a completion date. This can take approximately 2 -10 weeks. 

Fourth Step - Completion

Confirm and arrange an exchange and completion date suitable to both parties. On completion date; you'll be expected to take the house and pick up the keys. This can take approximately 1 week.
